After the BMW 5 Series winning as the World Car for the Year, BMW X3 received another award from “Auto Bild Allrad”, the specialist car magazine. With its high degree of popularity, BMW X3 won the title of “Four-Wheeled Drive Car of the Year 2011.”

The award was set through reader survey by Europe’s biggest-selling specialist journal; BMW X3 was already voted as the “Off-road Vehicle of the Year 2011” before the “Four-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2011” was announced.

The Europe’s magazine “Auto Bild Allrad” has asked their readers to name their favorite auto models in the German market. Among 130 and more four-wheel drive vehicles to choose from, the new BMW X3 successfully secured the first place in the category “Off-road vehicles and SUVs ranging from 25,000 to 40,000 Euros.” The associated title of “Four-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2011” was awarded during a festive ceremony in Frankfurt on 24 March 2011.

BMW X3, which was first available in the German marketing in November 2010l, sets standards in driving pleasure, versatility and premium quality. Combining sportiness and efficiency, BMW X3 is captivatingly designed with the largest and most variable luggage compartment in the competitive environment. As one of the high-end European auto manufacturer, BMW has spent a lot of effort on its product development in increasing the interior space, maximizing engines efficiency, optimizing motoring comfort and developing innovative equipment features.  In this case, the new BMW X3 offers both outstanding travel comfort and a high-class ambience from inside to outside. It also sets new benchmarks in carrying capacities at its 550-litre, which can be increased to 1,600 liters, and 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats.

The new BMW X3’s engine portfolio, in Spring 2011, comprises two petrol engines and two diesel engines with a power output ranging from 135 kW/184 bhp to 225 kW/306 bhp. The eight-speed automatic transmission will either come as default or be added as an option, depending on the engine variant. Regardless the unique and intelligent four-wheel drive system xDrive has been optimized much further. BMW X3 also features electronically controlled power distribution providing supreme traction and maximum road stability on slippery surfaces and superior dynamics on the road.
